Unit 9 Part 1 Test
Scores are in.... and it's not good.
As a grade level we did not do well:( Ask your student to see the test, they have it. Also, they are to bring it back tomorrow.
This is what I have in mind. We will go over the test, I will supply a new study guide on Thursday. We will re-take the test on Friday, score it, and put it in SchoolMaxx before the progress report window closes. BOTH grades will count toward the progress report.

homework
My goal is to send home worksheets that reinforce what we are working on in class on the front and have review skills on the back. I hope that this will help prepare us for MSA coming up in a month.
First in Math play has diminished. I have incorporated a reward system for the team that has the highest gain for each week. The team that plays the most and gains the most stickers through the week will earn a Uniform Free Friday. My homework is for each student to play each night and earn 50 stickers. On the weekend the homework is to earn 200 stickers total through the weekend. I check this each morning and can see what the sticker play was for the past three days. Please encourage your students to play each night.

Homework & Quarter 2 project
Testing is over, and we are back in the swing of things again.
Thursday - subtracting fraction worksheet
Friday - improper fractions and mixed numbers worksheet
Quarter 2 project was sent home Wednesday, it is due next Wednesday. This counts as a test grade and can bring your average up, significantly, if you try and do all parts of the project.
2nd Quarter Project
Due Wednesday January 18, 2012
In this chapter project you will be required to use an American Standard ruler to measure inches to the nearest 1/8 of an inch.
1. Be aware that the total distance between the starting point and the treasure is 5 ¾ inches. Therefore the map will not measure correctly if you draw the landmarks to form a straight line. This will take some trial and error.
2. Concentrate on making the distances accurate and precise. This is what you will be scored mostly on, not if you illustrate the landmarks.
3. Be sure to include directions on how to follow your map and attach it to the map.
4. Once you have the map measured correctly and the landmarks placed, then follow the directions for the coordinate plane.
5. Be sure to answer the question on a separate sheet of paper and attach it to the coordinate grid.
6. Finally, you may add illustrations.
7. Staple all parts of the project together; map, directions, coordinate plane, and questions.

Missing grade reports
I am providing students with missing grade reports for the third time this quarter.
Please take time to complete all missing grades, and turn them into me stapled to the missing grade report.
The workbook packet that I returned graded can be completed (including the pages that I didn't assign) for extra credit.
Please turn everything into me by Friday January 13th, so I can put the assignments into the system before the quarter ends.
If you are currently earning a D or E I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this.
